Practical

When

The Larp will run from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th January 2027, with play finishing at 22:00 on Saturday 23rd followed by an afterparty.

Players will need to arrive at the entrance to the venue at 12pm as they will need to be escorted onsite and given a safety briefing by the venue staff.
We won’t be able to accommodate earlier arrival due to these restrictions, but will of course be flexible with travel delays and such.

Players will need to leave the venue by 11am, ideally in groups as they will need to be escorted offsite.

Where

The larp will be run on the HQTS Lord Amory in central London.
It is a decommissioned navy vessel now owned and looked after by the Docklands Scout Project.

The venue is a short walk from Canary Wharf & South Quay tube stations, and limited onsite parking is available with prior arrangement before the larp.

Sleeping arrangements will be bunks in the ships many cabins, and we will aim to limit the number of people you’re sharing a room with to 1 or 2 people, ideally your co-presenter.

All participants need to bring sleeping bags or duvets, but the venue provides mattresses, bed sheets, pillows & pillow cases. The ship has full central heating, communal washrooms & showers which will be unisex.

Cost

The ticket price for the larp is €300/£258.85.

There are 16 player spots, and the player characters will be written in paired duos, so signing up with another person you’d like to play with will be possible.

It will also be possible to experience the larp for free as a remote listener.

What we provide

Pre-Written Characters

Indoor sleeping in bunk accommodation on an actual ship

All of the technical operation of the radio station and broadcasting setup

Pre-game assistance preparing playlists and radio show content

Catering will be headed up by Dominic Zeal & Bean Taggart, who will provide high quality vegan food from Friday night through to a light breakfast on Sunday morning. You can expect dinner on Friday, then 3 meals a day for Saturday, breakfast Sunday and possibly other treats throughout the day.

Tea, coffee and squash will be provided.

Alcohol will not be provided at any time. You are welcome to bring your own for the afterparty within moderation.

Accessibility

The larp is being run on a decommissioned navy vessel, so includes narrow corridors & low ceilings, shallow staircase-ladders to traverse the ship, shin-high steel thresholds to step over in every doorway and a large step from dock onto access ramp to board the ship.

Unfortunately this means the venue isn’t wheelchair accessible, and players will need to be comfortable traversing staircase-ladders (relatively steep staircases that must be climbed facing the stairs) to travel around the ship to the cabins.

The main play area is all on the same floor of the ship, aside from the broadcasting studio which is accessible via the only normal staircase on the ship.

The sleeping cabins will have power outlets available for devices like CPAP machines, and we should be able to accommodate refrigeration for medicines with prior arrangement.

This event is unsuitable for smokers/vapers, and smoking or vaping won’t be possible at this larp.

This is due to rules of the venue, as smoking or vaping is not permitted on the ship, outside on the deck of the ship, or anywhere within the dock where the ship is located.
Players would need to be escorted off the ship & dock back to the public footpath behind a locked gate by the venue staff to facilitate smoking/vaping which we have deemed too impractical & disruptive to the event.

The radio show will be broadcast and playing throughout the ship in the communal areas from 10am-10pm, which will include music and spoken word from your co-players, at about the volume you’d expect a radio to be on in an office.
The player cabins won’t have the radio show playing in them, and the dedicated safety & welfare room will be off-game and not have any radio show playback.

Players will off-game need to be confident and willing to create content for 1 hour radio shows, however this will be a supportive and welcoming environment with the understanding that you’ve likely never done a radio show before.

The themes of the larp will include the fact that the entire population of the game-world, aside from the player characters, will all lose their lives to the flooding by the end of the larp, meaning that the player characters will be the last people left alive.

If you have accessibility needs that are not discussed here, please get in touch or mention them on your sign up forms we can get in touch to discuss.
